Music around the World: Chance the Rapper
I must admit, I had never heard of this guy prior to watching the latter half of the 2017 Grammys. What caught my attention about Chance the Rapper was the humility he showed at the Grammys as he received his awards. I was very impressed, so I decided to look him up. Then I became more impressed when I learned he is a proud, independent act, which is what I am all about. So then I got curious about his music, and gave a few of his tracks a listen. I must say, this young man has good wordplay; I enjoyed his bars on a past live performance he gave on Jimmy Fallon’s show (video below). Listening to him made me feel a little old; it’s amazing to step back and see how much hip hop has changed over the years, and what form it will take in the future.
