Music around the World: Geek Squad
The Geek Squad, made up of CJ Chat and Red RKN, is a producing duo based out of South Carolina and Delaware. These guys have been making amazing beats for 7+ years now, and on a personal note I’m honored to say that they showed me love with my Eteka project.
They cite Timbaland and The Neptunes as influences, but I have to say that when I first heard them a few years ago, their beats made me think of producers like Nujabes (R.I.P) and J.Dilla (R.I.P). There is a chilled, ambient aspect to almost all of their tracks that I absolutely love, and I often find myself playing their masterpieces when I take long road trips.
